IFAs will be among those encouraged to consider Capita's Enabler concept in the GI space through its quotes engine business Webline's deal to provide infrastructure supporting a building and contents insurance proposition from first4cover.
The announcement is understood to be the first of several involving GI, and is being teed up as a way to bring additional business – in this case general insurance – as much into IFA firms as into any other type of intermediary business, which can be linked to existing client bank demands. Capita is looking to bolt on many other services around what it sees as IFA business demands of the future, and it is understood mortgages will be the next area the company eyes up as it continues the technology supplier consolidation drive that has seen itself and Vertex divide up the sector thus far. ...
