An American start-up has attracted plenty of interest with its low-cost advice offering. Could it work in the UK?

Cracking mass-market advice has been an obsession for many – but a success for few. When someone finally gets a low-cost offering right, “they will clean up”, said Jackson Financial Planning’s Pete Matthew. A US start-up could have the answer. LearnVest provides an advice firm with a difference: it operates remotely, with aggressively cheap fees to match. A basic financial plan starts from as little as £45.
