New Star appoints Collins for equity focus

NEW Star has appointed Edward Collins to co-manage the equity portion of the £30m Tri-Star fund with Stephen Whittaker.

Collins is lead manager of the UK Dynamic fund, a Dublin OEIC that he has run since February 2006. He will take on full responsibility for the equity part of the fund later in the year, leaving Whittaker to concentrate on his other duties as joint chief investment officer and manager of the UK Growth fund and Equity Income Unit Trust.
