Misys hires new ceo

Mike Lawrie is to take over as group chief executive of Misys with effect from 1st November 2006, the firm has announced.

He replaces Kevin Lomax who stepped down from the role at the beginning of this month, after warning annual earnings for the company would fall this year. Lawrie was previously a general partner with ValueAct Capital, a private investment firm headquartered in San Francisco and prior to joining ValueAct, he was chief executive of Siebel Systems between 2004 and 2005. He also spent 27 years with IBM where he rose to become senior vice president and group executive, sales and distribution.
