CA receives 'super-complaint' status

Consumers' Association has this week been granted formal super-complaint status by the Department of Trade and Industry.

The ‘super-complainant’ power will enable CA to make formal complaints to a number of government regulators, including the Office of Fair Trading, about markets failing to work for consumers. Nick Stace, CA director of Campaigns, says: "Consumers’ Association is delighted to have been granted official super-complaint status by the DTI. He continues: “This recognises the crucial role this organisation must play in the highlighting where markets are failing to operate in the consumer interest.
