Resolution has appointed former Standard Chartered chief executive Sir Malcolm Williamson as chairman of Friends Provident Holdings.
Williamson was appointed a non-executive director of Friends Provident following Resolution's acquisition of the company in November 2009.
He is currently a non-executive director of National Australia Bank Limited, chairman of National Australia Group Europe, Clydesdale Bank and Signet Jewelers Ltd.
Previously, he was chairman of CDC Group and Britannic Group, president and chief executive of Visa International, group chief executive of Standard Chartered and a non-executive director of National Grid Group and JPMorgan Cazenove Holdings.
The appointment follows that of Nick Lyons and Derek Ross as independent non-executives from 1 February.
