New Star spices up alternative investment team

New Star has added to its hedge fund team after appointing Donald Pepper to head up its alternative investments division.

Pepper, set to join in September, joins from Merrill Lynch International where he is head of prime brokerage sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. New Star says Pepper will head up a dedicated hedge fund team of 10, oversee the company’s range of seven single and multi-manager hedge funds and seek to develop new business.
