Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has boosted its European Active Equity team with two appointments.
Gavin Lander is set to join the firm as senior portfolio manager from BlueBay Asset Management, while David Shaw joins from BlackRock Merrill Lynch Investment Management.
The duo will work with Ian King who joined Legal & General in January as head of European equities.
Mark Burgess, head of equities at L&G, says: “I am naturally extremely pleased that Gavin and David have decided to join us.
“We are determined to generate good performance for our clients in this area and these appointments are further evidence of our continuing efforts to build the strength and quality of our active equity capability.”
When at BlueBay, Lander was a portfolio manager with responsibility for European equities on the firm’s flagship Global Credit Fund.
Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager at UBS O’Connor with responsibility for European equities.
While at BlackRock, Shaw worked as an analyst covering a range of sectors across the European market.
