Majority of schemes back pensions dashboard - ITM

But highlights challenges

Nine out of ten schemes are in favour of the pensions dashboard and view it as a beneficial development for the industry and consumers alike, according to a survey by ITM.

Despite overwhelming positivity, respondents also highlighted a number of challenges that need to be overcome along the way, including data protection (35%), data quality (30%) and system access (20%). There were also calls for more engagement with schemes, given that entitlements across the occupational pension sector represent a significant proportion of the pension pot universe. Additionally, respondents stressed that an industry code of conduct should be agreed and made mandatory so that schemes can secure necessary resourcing and budgets for data gathering.
