Henderson upbeat on UK GDP

THE team behind the Henderson Strategic Bond fund believes UK GDP will remain fairly stable despite the slowdown in the US economy.

John Pattullo and Jenna Barnard, who co-manage the £122m portfolio, said although the US housing market showed signs of slowing and there was a slackening of global industrial sector growth rates, the UK’s economy would not fluctuate massively. Pattullo said: “The US economy is slowing but it will lower to a moderate level, so GDP in the UK is going to be fairly benign.” The duo, whose fund is first quartile over three years according to Lipper and has free rein to invest in any type of bond, manage their total return offering using a pragmatic and multi-asset class strategy.
