PETER Webb's Falcon investment trust outperformed its benchmark, the Hoare Govett Smaller Companies index, by 5pc for the year to September 30, 2006.
Recent additions to the trust include Abcam, a producer and distributor of research grade therapeutic antibodies, and Debt Free Direct, a provider of personal debt management solutions. The company said that profits taken from eight existing holdings such as Robert Walters, which rose in value by more than 90pc, boosted the portfolio’s performance. It also felt that avoiding undue exposure to areas of the economy which were reliant on continued growth in spending by the domestic consumer were key to the trust’s success.
