onfidence in the UK stock market is improving, as tracked by the Halifax, with consumers expecting the FTSE 100 to rise to 5290 over the course of the next six years. The Halifax share dealing poll, which surveyed 2,099 people, found the majority thought the FTSE would level out at around 4020 over the next 12 months. It found women were more cautious than men, predicting the index would rise to 3,903 over the next 12 months while the men were a little more optimistic and anticipated a climb to 4,109 over the same period.
