Paul Tunnicliffe has been appointed managing director of Friends Provident International Ltd (FPIL) in the Isle of Man.
Tunnicliffe joined Friends Provident in 1992 and has held roles in Ireland, the UK and the Isle of Man.
In 2004 he became director of international operations responsible for all operations at FPI both in the UK and the Isle of Man.
In his new role he reports to Rocco Sepe, managing director of Friends Provident International worldwide.
Tunnicliffe's appointment comes as part of a new board structure for FPIL, which also sees Charles Fargher named as chairman. Previously head of the audit and compliance committee, he is replaced in this role by non-executive director Emer Daly.
Jonathan Hall, who had been company secretary and acting MD, takes up the post of general manager (Isle of Man). He is replaced as company secretary by Brendan Harper, currently technical services manager and a regular contributor to International Investment.
Commenting on the appointments, Tunnicliffe said: "These appointments come after our strategic review confirmed that international is one of the core focuses of the Friends Provident business.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jonathan for his support as acting MD. He has done a sterling job and this left me in no doubt that he should be appointed as general manager for the Isle of Man business."
