Scottish Equitable has launched a business development pack to help intermediaries target those corporate clients that invest in offshore bonds, writes Joanne Frearson.
The business development pack is designed to equip intermediaries with the technical expertise and practical tools required to tackle this market segment. It includes intermediaries guides to corporate investment as well as marketing material such as suggested letters to target corporate clients available in word format on floppy disk.
There is also a suggested letter to enable intermediaries to strike up professional connections with accountants and solicitors.
Richard Leeson, head of sales international products, said: 'Offshore investment can be an attractive and tax-efficient option for companies who wish to invest some of their cash reserves for the medium term, but still wish to have access to their investment.'
He added: 'The key advantages are virtually tax-free growth on funds within the bond, and the ability to defer tax on withdrawals giving companies greater control over when and how much tax they pay on their investments. It is an important market segment for intermediaries looking at the offshore market and offers great potential in terms of business development.'
To obtain copies of the pack, intermediaries should contact their local Scottish Equitable branch.
