Scottish Life International has teamed up with New Star to include the company"s funds within its Protected Investment Management Service (PIMS) wrapper.
Investors can access New Star"s range of funds within the PIMS wrapper. These include the European Growth fund managed by Richard Pease and UK Growth managed by Stephen Whittaker. Other funds also include European Leader, Global Financials, Higher Income, and UK Aggressive as well as New Star"s Portfolio fund of funds service that was recently acquired from Edinburgh Portfolio in autumn 2003. These are available at a discounted initial charge of 0.50% within PIMS.
Scottish Life International chooses its select fund range by monitoring what is popular in the intermediary marketplace and trying to include a selection of the best known names.
Richard Janieson, investment marketing manager at Scottish Life International, said: "The inclusion of the New Star funds broadens investors" and intermediaries" choice when creating portfolios within PIMS. Investors can also protect the long-term value of their capital by selecting PIMS insurance, which locks in gains on a six-monthly basis preserving the estate value against unexpected market falls when the investor dies."
Scottish Life International is also currently offering special terms on its PIMS portfolio bond, including free PIMS insurance cover for the first three months.
