OBSR founders Richard Romer-Lee and Nigel Whittingham have left Morningstar OBSR to take a career break from the industry.
Romer-Lee (pictured), founder of OBSR and a well known figure in the investment industry, became managing director of Morningstar's investment consulting operations in Europe in 2010, after OBSR was bought by Morningstar.
Meanwhile Whittingham, development director at OBSR who joined in 2007, has stepped down as managing director of Morningstar OBSR in the UK and Ireland.
They have been replaced in the interim by Geoff Balzano, CEO of Morningstar UK, and Hal Ratner, chief investment officer for Morningstar Investment Management in Europe.
Balzano will head up Morningstar OBSR's business operations.
Ratner will lead the European business operations outside of the UK.
"Richard and Nigel joined Morningstar when we acquired OBSR in early 2010. We have worked side by side to integrate and grow our consulting and research businesses in the UK and across Europe," said Balzano.
"We have a team of talented individuals on board, and are pleased that Richard and Nigel will stay with us during the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition for our clients. I have great respect for both of them and wish them the very best."
