Northern Rock fell 33 points, or 4.91%, to 639p. ITV fell 4.6 points, or 4.14%, to 106.4p. Alliance & Leicester fell 26 points, or 2.7%, to 937.5p. Shire fell 32 points, or 2.5%, to 1246p. British Land fell 23 points, or 1.88%, to 1200p.
The Dow Jones reached 13430.98c today after rising 139.33 points, or 1.05%.
General Motors rose 1.94 points, or 6.41%, to 32.19c. McDonald’s rose 3.23 points, or 6.31%, to 54.43c. JPMorgan Chase & Co. rose 1.21 points, or 2.72%, to 45.68c. Alcoa rose 0.85 point, or 2.53%, to 34.5c. Verizon rose 0.92 point, or 2.2%, to 42.79c.
United Technologies fell 0.11 point, or 0.15%, to 74.73c. Intel fell 0.03 point, or 0.12%, to 25.44c. Altria Group fell 0.03 point, or 0.04%, to 67.47c. Disney fell 0.01 point, or 0.03%, to 33.71c. 3M fell 0.01 point, or 0.01%, to 89.07c.
