GAM and Lazard Fund Managers tied for first place in Morningstar's March Isa performance league table, with average quant-based ratings of 4.29 out of five.
The ratings are calculated using 36 months of fund performance to the end of February 2003, adjusted for risk and cost. Funds with track records of less than 36 months or from groups with less than five Morningstar-rated Isa funds are not included in the league table.
Investec and Barclays Global Investors followed in third and fourth place with ratings of 4.25 and 4.20 respectively.
SG Asset Management suffered the biggest drop since the previous monthly table was released, falling 20 places to 55. Jupiter was close behind with a 17 place fall to 26 while the Royal Bank of Scotland dropped 11 spots to 46.
The most improved providers in the March table were Baillie Gifford, which jumped 26 places up the list to rank 26 and Edinburgh Unit Trusts Managers, which rose 13 places to 33.
