Some 33% of investors polled by JP Morgan Fleming believe the UK stock market will rise over the next six months, down from 40% holding this view in July. The survey also found 30% of respondents expected the market to be lower after six months, up from 24% in July. The balance of surveyed investors, some 37%, were neutral on future prospects for UK equities, believing markets would remain at or around current levels. The firm's investor confidence index had fallen from 83 in July to 67 in August but remained above the 45 point low recorded in March.
