From 1 August, Gartmore will reinstate income shares for investors in its UK Index fund. Before converting to an Oeic, the fund offered both accumulation and income shares. Because most investors chose to reinvest income, when the fund converted to an Oeic, only accumulation shares were offered to investors. Since then, some shareholders have asked for the income option to be restored. The income shares will distribute on 30 June and 31 December yearly. Switching from accumulation to income shares will have no cost or tax implications.
