UK small and medium-sized companies are at their cheapest absolute ratings for more than a decade, according to Mark Niznik, investment director at Standard Life. He said that after trading on average at par with FTSE 100 stocks over the past 25 years, they currently stand on a 25% discount rating to large caps, one of the biggest gaps seen over this period.
