inaugural conference/exhibition for intermediary businesses and product providers nears
Investment Week's parent publishing company, Incisive Media, is hosting its inaugural State of the Nation conference/exhibition on 27 September 2002 at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster, London.
State of the Nation will be an annual focal point for intermediary businesses and product providers to debate current issues affecting the intermediary industry, bring-ing together many of the biggest fund providers including Fidelity, Insight, Merrill Lynch, First State and Aberdeen.
The conference has a programme of both plenary speeches and workshop sessions tackling the key issues affecting advisers and their businesses.
Much of this year's programme will focus on the effects of the Sandler Review and the CP121 consultation process on the intermediary community.
In addition, there will be presentations on topics including valuing advisory businesses, succession planning, the future of with-profits and the pricing of advice.
The event will feature a number of exhibition stands from the groups presenting, along with a dedicated one-to-one meeting area. Speakers at the conference, which will be hosted by Roddy Kohn of Kohn Cougar, include Mike Ross, the chief executive of Scottish Widows.
Ross will talk about life in a depolarised world and how depolarisation is likely to change the life, pensions and investment industry.
Intermediaries wishing to attend should email: thestateof [email protected] or alternatively telephone Sophie Pope on 020 7432-6978.
The aviation sector's constant evaluation of errors in order to improve safety should be applied to defined benefit (DB) schemes, as too many are repeating the same mistakes again and again, research has shown.
