Prudential has released a desktop app in a bid to boost annuity business with IFAs.
The app was developed for advisers to wittle down administration time and streamline processes, by accessing services quicker than on the group's website alone.
Jon Cross, head of eBusiness at Prudential, says: "Launching a fast-paced desktop app, which links key documents from one place, will enable advisers to access key client information quickly and easily, in turn, helping to improve the efficiency of the annuity sales process."
Client statements, calculating illustrations and application forms will be available via the app. In addition, advisers, paraplanners and administration staff can access fast-facts and key features documents in just a few clicks.
Prudential chose the desktop format in response to industry demand. Cross added: "We carried out research around when people would use their phone versus when people would use their laptop or are in the office. An app service would be accessed via desktop. We haven't found that people are using their smartphones to access illustrations" particularly with advisers having to print off documents."
