Financial advisers will never attract young clients or young talent if they do not upskill themselves in new technology and customer habits, warns David Beacham

I spend a huge amount of time speaking with advisers and have recently come to an alarming conclusion. At an event Goji recently hosted in partnership with Owen James, and among the usual debates over GDPR, fee structures, FCA compliance and so on, one chore really stood out - succession planning. I use the term ‘chore' deliberately. Succession planning is one of those ‘near future' concerns that never appears pressing but, it turns out, every adviser is anxious about dealing with.
