Peter Hargreaves pours £25m into ex-Artemis manager Yiu's new firm

First major investment since 2015

Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Peter Hargreaves has stepped back into the wealth management scene by becoming a partner in start-up Blue Whale Capital.

Hargreaves (pictured) invested £25m into the new firm, which will be run by former co-manager of the Artemis UK Growth fund Stephen Yiu. Yiu spent five years at Hargreaves Lansdown between 2002 and 2007 before joining New Star Asset Management, where he worked alongside Tim Steer. The pair then moved to Artemis in 2009 to manage the UK Growth fund, but Yiu left to move back to Hong Kong in 2013.
