Schroder Investment Management will launch a fund to exploit investment opportunities in the increasingly important sector of climate change.
The Global Climate Change fund, which will be jointly managed by Simon Webber and Matthew Franklin, is claimed to the first of its kind in the UK. It has a global remit and will offer exposure to companies involved in two key themes: climate change mitigation and adaptation. Schroder defines mitigation as preventing the worst of future climate change with measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; adaptation is adapting to climate change that is already inevitable.
