RESEARCH by Standard Life Investments has highlighted the opportunities available in the transport sector, which has outperformed the broader equity markets for several years.

According to Frances Hudson, global thematic strategist for Standard Life Investments, the transportation of materials and goods is fundamental to global growth and trade, with globalisation and the expansion of trade driving growth in the freight markets.
