LEGAL & General (L&G) is launching a new life company to sell an international pooled portfolio bond for high net worth investors in the UK.
It is currently seeking regulatory approval to launch Legal & General International (Ireland) Limited to manage and produce the new investment and life assurance product. The move marks L&G’s first foray into the international market and comes following bumper bond sales of 26pc year on year in 2006, up 84pc on 2004, thanks to the success of the open Portfolio Plus Pension and Portfolio Bond launched in October 2005.
