BlackRock lauds Latin America performance

LATIN America has continued to perform well in a generally stormy world market, according to BlackRock.

In comparison to other markets, the region's equities have continued to offer attractive valuation levels, alongside superior earnings growth and Will Landers, fund manager of BlackRock's ML Latin America Investment Trust, said the region will continue to post high and sustainable growth rates, even as the global economy slows. The fund is 20pc invested in Mexico, which Landers conceded was tied closely to the US economy, though the majority of the fund has essentially decoupled from the influence of the US.
