I am always intrigued as to the perpetuated myth in financial services that size matters. In Professional Adviser’s February 8 issue, IFA Focus, Les Beavis of Financial Management Bureau made some valuable and interesting comments, but I found myself at odds with one of the statements that he made: “The good-quality and bigger IFAs will cope, but the smaller firms will struggle.” I may well be misinterpreting what Les has said, and if I am, I am sure I will be corrected, but I do have to say that there is no correlation between ‘size’ and ‘quality’.
