First Islamic CTF launched

The first Shariah-compliant child trust fund was launched by The Children's Mutual yesterday.

Scheduled to go live in September, the product will be an actively-managed global equity fund designed to meet the requirements of Islamic law and managed by a board of scholars. Ian Lewis MP, economic secretary to the Treasury and Dr Akber Mohamedali, treasurer of the Muslim Council of Britain attended the launch, along with David White, chief executive of the Children’s Mutual.
