The current air of confusion and uncertainty around who will provide for pensioners has created a rift in UK retirement expectations between those who expect a better standard of living than today's retirees (35%) and those who expect it to be worse (37%).
And it is the baby-boomer generation (aged 55 and over and not yet retired), now nearing retirement, that is least optimistic about its standard of retirement living, while young adults (under 35) are confident the picture will improve by the time they reach retirement age.
