Another court case has again highlighted the need for consumers to remain vigilant about dealings with unauthorised financial services firms or individuals representing such firms after the High Court sentenced a Lancashire man to a custodial sentence for breaking FSA rules. John Rourke was jailed for 20 days in October last year for contempt of court after failing to stop accepting deposits from consumers in line with an April 2001 ruling following a case brought by the FSA.
