The underweight property position investment houses took in the second half of 2001 was a short-term trend, according to Greg Nicholson, head of investment at CB Hillier Parker, and activity in the sector is much greater in the first half of 2002. Weak performance of other asset classes makes the high income from property attractive, he said, while rents are expected to recover over the coming 12 to 18 months.
