The £6m BGI European fund is to be merged with the £97m BGI European Growth portfolio following shareholder approval at an EGM later this month. The two funds are managed according to similar quant-based mandates by a team led by Martin White. BGI said shareholders will benefit from economies of scale as well as additional share classes, as BGI European has five classes while European Growth currently only has one. The firm is considering further rationalisation, after closing its BGI Multinational Tracker fund earlier this year.
