South Africa is set to eliminate tax on dividends declared by foreign subsidiaries and also where South African shareholders have a certain level of interest, set at a minimum of 25%. The Revenue Laws Amendment bill brings into force many of the elements of the recent budget. In its current form, the bill is open for public discussion but as it stands, it also includes tax benefits for construction companies and raising the minimum threshold for small companies to get lower corporate tax.
