Performance on hedge funds could suffer if managers fail to adopt Shariah-compliant principles, Calyx Financial has warned. Douglas Johnson, senior managing director at the group, said Shariah-compliant products were competitive and in some cases outperforming non-Shariah counterparts. He said there were at least 470 Shariah-compliant hedge funds, and at least 60 could compete with any hedge fund on returns.
