The Royal London Group has launched its first direct venture into mainland Europe, with two products for the German market.
The Royal London European With Profits Bond and Libertas, a unit-linked investment utilising the Protected With Bonus funds designed by Scottish Life International, will be offered through three distributors in Germany ' Andrew Peat Group, Allgemeiner Versicherungsdienst Gesellschaft (AVD) and ProClient GmbH.
Scottish Life International will drive the sales and marketing function of the products. Its regional sales manager for Germany, Colin MacLean, and international sales director, Simon Pack, will lead the sales campaign, with marketing support provided by Sylvia Holst. A German-speaking team based on the Isle of Man will provide support and administrative services for brokers.
Richard Jamieson, investment marketing manager at Scott- ish Life International, said: 'German investors have become more sophisticated in recent years, but the current level of stock market volatility has provoked a return to the traditionally conservative investment culture. As a consequence, investors are becoming more risk-averse.
'Libertas and the European With Profits Bond offer complementary ways of providing what German investors increasingly want ' reassurance, security and growth potential.'
