Consumer research commissioned by Fidelity International, has revealed that charges are one of the most important factors affecting investor behaviour. Of those surveyed, 44% said initial charges would affect their choice of provider and 42% said they would consider total expense ratios. When asked specifically about passively managed investments, nearly two thirds, 61% of people polled said charges influenced their choice of tracker fund providers.
