Former US fund manager Simon Melluish has returned to Gartmore, where he will be responsible for marketing its global funds to investors.
The position was initially part time and was undertaken by Paul Hamilton but expanded to full time on the back of strong demand for global products. Hamilton has gone back to his original role at Gartmore as relationship consultant and Melluish has taken over his responsibilities full time.
In his new position, Melluish will market Gartmore's global Sicav and Oeic as well as its long/short market neutral global hedge fund. He will also be involved in providing analytical support to the global equities team, reporting to Neil Rogan.
He left Gartmore in January 2005 to manage his own commercial business. Melluish originally joined Gartmore in 1995 as investment manager on the global portfolio team. In 2003, he was appointed head of US equities and spent more than three years in Philadelphia managing a number of US equity funds on behalf of Gartmore's UK retail clients.
Before joining Gartmore, Melluish worked for Singer & Friedlander Investment Management where he was assistant director, and Hendersons where he was portfolio manager on the US desk. Overall he has more than 18 years of investment industry experience.
