Skandia is today launching a series of free seminars for advisers on with-profits reviews and retirement planning.
The 14 nationwide seminars will look at how Skandia's with-profits analyser tool can help advisers meet compliance requirements on with-profits reviews and examine the retirement planning opportunities available to clients with high income.
The tool identifies penalty-free exit opportunities, comparing them with the potential future performance of with-profits funds against alternative portfolios held via a number of tax wrappers.
In addition, the workshops will deal with the impact on basic and higher-rate taxpayers of changes outlined in the Pre Budget Report.
At each session two speakers from a variety of fund groups will present their view on the current markets, and the opportunities which exist specifically for those with income over £130,000 for maximising pension contributions and optimising tax relief.
Peter Mann, chief development officer at Skandia, says: "The seminars will provide an insight into some of the more technical issues facing advisers and the steps they can take to ensure they are aware of all the opportunities available to clients - specifically for those with high income and those currently holding with-profits bonds.
