Zurich is developing a web-based financial planning tool for advisers, which can be used with clients who have inheritance tax mitigation needs.
The tool will provide advisers with the ability to calculate the value of their clients’ estates without needing to input the latest IHT threshold and tax rate, and will highlight several IHT mitigation options, along with an audit trail.
The tool is currently being tested and it is likely to be launched within the next few weeks.
Peter Hamilton, protection management director at Zurich, says: “There is an increasing IHT burden falling on UK taxpayers but seemingly too few advisers who are both willing and confident enough to find the right solutions for their clients. We believe this tool will be a valuable asset in support of the advice given and will provide guidance and confidence where that is needed.”
