Merchant Investors is to include Framlington NetNet unit trust in its Personal Pension Portfolio product, writes James Thorneley
It already has exposure to IT stocks through Aberdeen Technology unit trust. George Ladd, supervisor customer support and marketing at Merchant Investors, said that he viewed technology as an essential sector to be in and liked the Framlington fund as it was a pure internet play
Ladd expects to further increase exposure in technology in the future. The group is currently in discussions with SocGen about fund links, which may include SocGen Technology fund. The upfront charge ranges between 5.5% and 7% depen-ding on the fund size. The ann-ual management ranges between 0.25% and 0.75
Intermediaries can opt for a level of commission between 0-5% of each contribution their clients pay. For each 1% of commission 'sacrificed' the administration charge is reduced by 1%. Optional fund based trail of up to 0.5% a year is also available
