Edinburgh Fund Managers is to offer a 0.5% discount on its UK smaller companies Oeic for the Isa season, writes Leo Bland.
The discount, which will apply only to lump-sum Isa investments of £2,000 and over, will take the initial charge on the fund to 3% from 3.5% and will be available from the beginning of January through to the end of the tax year. The Oeic, which is managed by Alistair Currie, has an annual management charge of 1.25% and pays 3% initial commission and 0.5% renewal.
As of 1 November, the top 10 holdings in the fund included Autonomy, Incepta, Sportsworld Media and Imagination Technology.
The fund has around 45.6% in companies with market caps of £300m and above, as well as around 15% in stocks with market caps of between £150m and £200m. Around 6.7% of the portfolio is in stocks with market caps of less than £50m.
Edinburgh UK Smaller Companies is £162m in size and has an frAA rating. The fund is second out of 68 funds in the UK Smaller Companies sector over the three years to 29 November on growth of 192.9%. Over one year it is ranked 10 out of 74 on growth of 23.9% and is 71 out of 76 over three months on a fall of 13.8%.
