Axa has produced a marketing pack for intermediaries looking to provide income for clients who are retired or approaching retirement, writes Ruth Alexander.
The income toolkit provides advisers with a step-by-step guide to the group's range of products and is designed to help them advise clients who are looking to supplement their income.
Mike Mumford, business development manager at Axa, said the low interest rate and inflation environment is prompting many to look for alternative sources of income, while stock market volatility is prompting others to look outside traditional equity funds.
The toolkit includes a consumer guide to income, which illustrates how income can help meet clients' investment requirements. The financial adviser marketing guide provides customer profiles and details of Axa products and services.
The pack features an income calculator, an interactive desktop calculator which can be used to illustrate the effect on total returns depending on the amount invested and the length of investment term. Sales aids will also be provided in the pack.
At the same time, Axa is offering a 1% extra allocation to the existing 120,000 planholders of its Distribution Bond who invest an additional £2,000 or more by 31 July 2001.
