AXA Sun Life Investment Management is creating an investment sales team to market products to IFAs nationwide, writes Jane Wallace
The team will comprise six investment sales managers and three broker support staff. The team will report to Patrick Cooper, head of retail at AXA SLIM
The first team member is Robert Wilson, who is leaving Morgan Grenfell to become investment sales manager with responsibility for IFA and wholesale distribution in the north of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland
At Morgan Grenfell, Wilson was a regional sales manager responsible for the north of England
Each investment sales manager will have two responsibilities. The first will be relationship management for a defined group of investment intermediaries, including discretionary IFAs, private client fund managers, private banks and those banks with private banking operations
The second responsibility is regional. There will be two managers for the south, including London, one for the West, one for the North and one for the East. The sixth manager will take responsibility for key accounts. The managers will work with Sun Life's existing IFA broker consultant salesforce which sells life company products, with particular responsibility for technical training. Their aim is to provide a specialist investment service to clients who require investment vehicles only, as opposed to investments with pension or life assurance wrappers
Two global vehicles
'Further plug advice gap'
