Friend or Foe: Bond markets in 2018

2002 is an exciting year for MGM Assurance. Not only is it our 150th Anniversary, but we've also launched a new improved Capital Investment Bond.

The new product is appropriately named the MGM Celebration Bond and is available now to IFAs.
Research we carried out within the IFA market earlier this year, highlighted the need to modernise our product - not just to improve its competitive position, but also to appeal to increasingly sophisticated and knowledgeable investors.

The new product moves us forward, offering a competitive bond for customers and providing a much-improved product for our investors.

So, what are the key selling points of the new Bond?

- No initial charge (or bid/offer spread) on investments of £10,000 or more.

- No upper age limit.

- Allocation rates in excess of 100% on all investments of £10,000 or more.

- Highly competitive charging structure for investments.

- Loyalty bonus of 2% of the fund value payable on the tenth anniversary.

- Free switching facility.

- Access to award-winning investment funds.

- Free share exchange facility.

In addition, it also provides the chance to invest in the MGM Bonus Growth Fund. This gives customers the opportunity to become a member of one of the small number of remaining mutual life offices.

We've also changed our charging structure to reflect changes in the market over the last year. We believe the move away from up-front charges provides investors with an easier to understand product, in keeping with the drive to simplify charges.

The MGM Celebration Bond is backed by award-winning investment performance. 2002 saw the MGM Investment Fund Managers receiving the industry acclaimed Standard & Poor's awards for the fifth consecutive. Testament in itself to our strong investment strategy. In fact, the Standard and Poor's Fund Awards 2002 supplement states:
"The performance of the group's Balanced Managed fund is so good that it has to be commented on. It has produced top quartile cumulative returns over one, two, three, five and 10 years, with a volatility figure of just 2.6, compared to a sector average of 3.2.

A genuinely award winning performance. MGM Assurance's richly deserved award in the one year category comes after the fund group scooped both the one year and the five year awards in the smaller group category in the 2001 awards."
We believe you should have every confidence that the MGM Celebration Bond offers one of the best products of this type currently available in the market.

If you are interested in finding out more about the MGM Celebration Bond, please call our IFA team on 0845 7581277 between 8.30am and 6.00pm or email them on
