Dominic McEwen, manager of the Bonfield Japan Hedge fund, has left Bonfield Asset Management to join Jade Absolute Fund Management.
This follows the recent departure of fund manager James Salter, who left Bonfield for Polar Capital Partners at the start of the year.
The $5m long/short Bonfield Japan hedge fund, now renamed the Jade Japan fund, has retained its investor base and will continue to be run on the same basis.
Investors were indifferent to the change, according to McEwen, as he still has complete autonomy over the way the fund is run.
There will be only two changes to the fund: a replacement is to be announced shortly for John Bonfield, one of the directors; and Scott McGlashan, chairman of Jade and manager of the Jade Asia Pacific fund and Close Finsbury's Japan fund, is to become the backup manager.
The departing managers have agreed not to reveal details of the split, although McEwen has said it was amicable.
