Each day, IFAonline will give you an insight into the wealth of comments on polarisation we have received this week from intermediaries.
If you have any comments you would like to add, either email them to the editor, Julie Henderson: [email protected], or post them on the discussion boards.
This comment comes from intermediary John Baxter, Baxter Fensham
Like everyone else I have not seen the fine print of the report but if it mirrors the sentiment in [IFAonline's Monday] e-mail then I am all for it. The reliance on commission has meant clients have not received impartial advice in the past, they do not receive it today and they would not have received it in the future without something changing.
At Baxter Fensham we gave up our reliance on commission two years ago and now charge for the time we spend on clients affairs. We also provide consultancy services to IFAs that are hoping to make the transition.
