AIG Life is offering a technology index fund link through its personal pension bond and guaranteed stock market bond products.
The funds will be linked to the Nasdaq 100 index, which represents 100 of the largest companies traded on the Nasdaq stock market. These include Microsoft, Yahoo!, AOL, Amazon and Intel. Quarterly guarantees of 97.5% and 95% are available.
AIG Life already offers index fund links to the UK, US, Japan, Pacific Rim, and European stock markets, plus two managed fund options.
Nigel Hewett, investment marketing director at AIG Life, said: "There is a great deal of interest and excitement about technology companies, especially those in the dot.com sector. There is concern though that technology stocks are overvalued and there is a level of risk associated to some companies which have yet to justify their share valuations.
"The new Guaranteed Technology funds from AIG Life offer investors the opportunity to benefit from the potential growth in this index while also being able to select a level of guarantee which is appropriate to them."
